The Glory Of Rome is Not Forgotten:
The Roman Empire had many brilliant achievements and accomplishments. One example, is that they invented paved roads. We still use this today because we use roads to transport us from one location to the next and roads are located everywhere! Rome is also known for their realism in art. This is important because instead of drawing people perfectly, they drew their flaws and how they REALLY looked. The third example of what Rome invented was the Republican form of Government. The Republican form of Government influences us today because it influenced the Bill of Rights and we still believe that all citizens are equal under the law.
During its final years, the Roman Empire suffered many trials and tribulations. One example, is that the military was excessively spending money. The military barely left any money for the Romans to employe citizens, construct houses, and roads. This decrease in money led to inflation. Inflation led Rome to its fall because prices were continually increasing which also led to bartering. The third trial that led Rome to its fall was the Governments Political corruption. Rome was unable to choose a new emperor and over the next 50 years, 25 out of the 26 emperors were assassinated. Since Rome did not have a strong and powerful ruler there was no one to lead and make decisions for the citizens of Rome.
Rome was once an amazing and powerful empire. Without their achievements such as paved roads, aqueducts, their Republican form of Government, and the rise of Christianity, our world may not have been the way that it is now. Although they had trouble with choosing a leader, Rome was once a brilliant empire that shaped our world into the way it is today. The Roman Empire will never be forgotten and their achievements will continue to live on in our society.
